FAQs

Q: Is this like therapy?

Shannon is not a therapist or licensed as a psychologist or medical worker; however, this work can indeed complement any work you are doing with a therapist or physician. We emphasize that an intuitive healing or session with Shannon is in no way a substitute for professional medical, mental health, financial or spiritual counseling and treatment. As Healers, we do not have authority over your life, your self-understanding or your future. We strongly urge you to be your own healer, your own best advocate. Under California and Ohio state laws, this practice is classified as entertainment. Statements regarding healing and healing modalities have not been evaluated by any regulatory agency and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or health condition.

Q: Sometimes people say “Reiki” when discussing Healing or Energy Healing. What’s the difference?

Reiki healing is an ancient, holistic practice centered on the belief that a universal life force flows through all living things. Energy healing is a practice where a trained practitioner helps clear and rebalance your emotions, your subtle energy systems, meridians, chakras and more. Intuitive Healers use a unique blend of Intuition and Energy Healing. We highly recommend ‘The Subtle Body’ by Cyndi Dale for more detailed information on the concept of subtle energyWhen this energy flows freely, you experience optimal health, clarity, and well-being. From the International Center for Reiki Training, Reiki is a well-known ancient type of energy work that originated in Japan. It’s a simple method of light touch that is based on the Asian concept of ki or life energy. A session feels like a glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by lightly touching the physical body, but it can also be done long distance, even if you are in another country! It is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. For additional details on this beautiful, ancient practice, please visit:  Frequently Asked Questions | Reiki or https://www.shibumireiki.org/.

While energy healing, such as Reiki or Chakra Balancing, is considered complementary to Western medicine and is not strictly governed by conventional scientific methods, there have been studies that support its measurable effectiveness in reducing stress, alleviating pain, and promoting deep relaxation. You do not need to identify as “spiritual” or “New Age” to benefit. The energy is believed to be universal, and its benefits, like stress reduction and mental clarity, are accessible to anyone who approaches the session with an open, willing mindset.

Q: Can I be helped in one session?

Yes, you can, however, it is important for you to know that healing is a process that involves many layers of emotions, which take time to process. And as life evolves so do your healing needs.
